About Us Chinese Medicine Process Techniques Contact

Typically, the initial office visit begins with a complete health history and comprehensive interview regarding the patient's primary complaint as well as more general health concerns.
Chinese medicine treats the whole person, not just isolated symptoms. A physical exam utilizes techniques unique to Chinese medicine such as detailed inspection and analysis of the tongue and pulse, facial diagnosis and abdominal palpation.

Once diagnostic information has been gathered and organized, a clear picture of the patient's energetic disharmony emerges. The practitioner devises a treatment plan that is specific to that patient at that moment. Acupuncture and/or non-needle techniques are applied as appropriate and herbal therapy may be prescribed as well. During treatment, patients experience a state of deep rest.

The number of treatments needed depends on the duration, severity and nature of the complaint. One or two treatments may resolve an acute condition, while a series of 4 to 10 treatments may be needed for chronic problems. Some degenerative conditions may require ongoing treatments over a long period of time.
